A few things that I learned in this class, is express my opinions and explain how I feel when writing any papers and assignments. I learned how to fill in the space with new information, old information. Without learning the new old information technique I probably would get stuck writing every paper this year because I would always be blank minded trying to find out extra things to write so I can have a 2 page essay to turn in. another thing that I learned in class that I find really helpful for writing is the TS/CD. At first I struggled with it every time but after a while I finally got it. What I like about the TS/CD is that when you have each sentence done properly it turns out to be your paragraph. I also like the fact that it’s easy to remember and I won’t forget how to do them.
What I plan on doing in the future with my writing is to keep improving with expressing my opinions and feelings. One thing I did not do before this class was that I would not explain my opinions. I would make it clear that it was my thoughts but I never explained them so that the reader could better understand my point.
What made me feel better with my writing was knowing that we could use “I” in our papers. In high school they say don’t use “I” in our papers, but at the same time the teachers would want use to explain ourselves and. So knowing that “I” is able to be used I know for sure that the reader will know that everything is my opinion and how I feel about certain topics.

The ad that I found was for Express clothing store and it is just a picture of a man and a woman both dressed up sitting at the bar. I decided to pick this ad because it was about fashion and even though I don’t dress like it when I am in class. I am actually a guy that is really into the different styles and fashions. No I did not want to choose another ad because the one I picked was perfect for me. I liked the ad because it is for a clothing store that I like to go to. What they were trying to sell I would like to buy, because I like the style. The appeal that worked best on me was the need for affiliation. The need for affiliation worked best on me because I would not mind having the attention that I could potentially get wearing the outfit in the ad.

The more essays that we had to write I slowly started to understand how to gain an audience’s attention depending on the topic of the writing assignment. What I realized is that you can’t just pick a topic and start writing about it, because then it becomes a boring paper with nothing but facts. In order to really grab the reader’s attention I have to take the topic and make it something that people can connect to, like talking about experiences or current events.
Even though a topic is given when writing essays, it’s the writers job to make the paper interesting, and that’s when writing becomes a means of self-discovery because everything written is the authors opinions and expressed feelings that they have decided to share. That’s what makes writing interesting. Most of the time writing is the one time people don’t get told “don’t do this, don’t do that” and “don’t say this, don’t say that”, writing has no limits and that’s what’s so good about it.
An important thing I learned is how important learning how to write is, especially for our future careers. Without learning how to write there isn’t too much that a person can do. If you own your own business you have to know how to write to you can send out proposals to people, and you would have to know how to communicate with your employees other colleagues besides face to face and over the phone. Even wanting to have a career in the music industry you still have to know how to write so singers can have words to sing to. So even though people in school don’t think it’s that important, they will soon realize that it is, and where every people go we will always have to write something.

Making my resume went pretty good. I did not have any trouble that I can think of while trying to complete it, probably because I learned how to make a resume my senior year of high school. I liked doing this assignment because not only did it give me a chance to update my resume, but it also showed me another way to create one. I like the idea of having the tables because it keeps everything neat and organized. I also liked having the information packet too. The information packet helped me think of more skills and activities that I have been in for the last few years.
