Blog #2

During the first week of class we had to write about an experience in life dealing with issues of learning how to read and write. Even though ever body has certain strengths when it comes to writing I am not really sure what my strengths are. I guess I would say that I am good at writing introductions and conclusions, and that do good with spelling words correctly. There are not too many things I can think of at the top of my head, as far as my strengths in writing. I can go on and on about what I am bad at doing when writing, but then that would make me sound like I’m not confident with the things I write… so I’m not going to list those.

I don’t think that it was hard to write the essay… it was a little bit of a challenge, because it made you think about things that happened years ago; but when you don’t think about things from the past with the essay topic like that obviously it would be a challenge to find something to write about. That’s really all that writing is, sometimes you have to think about things from the past or imagine the future, or just think outside the box to find that one thing that clicks in your mind to start writing.

If I had a chance to do over the essay I would probably state more positive things about my experience, because if someone was to read my essay the probably would not even want to try and learn a new language because they would say to themselves “well he had a bad experience while trying to learn this so I probably would too”. Which is not true, just because one person has a bad experience does not mean that everyone else will too because everybody is not the same. The things I would not change… well I don’t know what I would keep the same to be honest.

I do enjoy writing as long as there is a good topic I could choose from. The main reason why I think I enjoy writing is because when you write you have the chance to express yourself, and explain how you feel. Writing gives you the one chance to let people see what your world is like, and how you don’t feel the same as everybody else does. I also like it because it can take a lot off of some one’s mind.

I prefer to have time to write. When I have time to write it allows me to sit at my computer, turn on some music, and then think about all the things that I need to write about.
