Blog #1

Ok… So first looking at the reading I see the word Rhetoric, and when seeing that word it makes me think of being in class and the teacher asks a rhetorical question. Reading through the section I start to realize that a Rhetorical Situation is not just about questions, but it’s also incorporated with writing. When writing, we express ourselves in many ways while trying to find different ways to grab the reader’s attention, and to keep them making a connection to the stories that we tell. That’s what I think the purpose of a Rhetorical Situation is.

I’m a person that’s really big into music, and I play a few instruments so when talking about Genres the first thing that comes to my mind is different kinds of music. I didn’t really think of there being different types of genres for writing… I guess I should have known because walking into a book store you see all the different Genres of books, so I should have figured if books have Genres writings can have them too.

As far as incorporating the two into my writing I’m not really sure how I will do that as of right now. To be honest sometimes I’m not even sure of the things that I put into my writing now. For all I know I could have both aspects in my writing and just not now it… I know that sounds sad but its true. The concepts weren’t really difficult; I think its jus that you just have to take your time to understand what you are reading. Reading the two sections I did find them both interesting, because they helped me to understand that there is more to writing than just a few words on a page. It was easy to read the sections but usually I feel more comfortable to have someone to explain everything to me so that I can ask questions.
